The Google Authenticator extension (for internet browsers) or app (for mobile devices) is a required addition to your e-prescribe account if your practice would like to e-prescribe controlled substances (EPCS).
Once you scan the QR code that represents your my.e-prescribe account, the authenticator will generate a 10-20 second valid 2FA code. This code, along with your account's password, will be required every time you prescribe controlled substances.
You can either use this PDF to read the instructions or watch this tutorial video on how to set up your Google Authenticator.
